Privacy Policy

This policy explains how the Waddle app ("the app," "we," "us") handles your information. The short version: the app has no account, no analytics, no advertising, and makes no network requests of any kind. Your step count is read from Apple Health on your device and is never transmitted anywhere. Everything the game knows about you stays on your phone.
Health data
Waddle is a walking game, so it needs to know how many steps you have taken. With your permission, it reads your daily step count from Apple Health.
That is the only health data type it requests, and it requests it read-only. The app writes nothing back to Apple Health — it has no permission to, and never asks for one.
Your step count is used on your device to work out how many grocery bags you have earned. It is not sent to us, because the app has no way to send anything to us. It is not shared with any third party, used for advertising, or used for any purpose other than running the game.
You can review or revoke this permission at any time in the iOS Health app, under Sharing > Apps. If you decline, the app still runs; you simply will not earn bags from walking.
What we collect
Nothing. There is no mechanism in the app to collect anything. Specifically:
- There is no account, email, login, or profile.
- There are no third-party analytics, advertising, attribution or tracking SDKs. The app has no third-party dependencies whatsoever; it is built entirely on Apple frameworks.
- The app makes no network requests. It contains no networking code, so no data can leave your device even in principle.
- We do not collect your name, contacts, photos, location, or browsing activity. The app never asks for location permission.
- We do not sell or share personal data, because we never receive any.
Game data on your device
Your bakery — ingredients, recipes, gems, equipment, decor, quests, achievements and streaks — is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData. It is included in your normal encrypted device backup, which is governed by Apple and which we cannot access. Deleting the app deletes this data.
Notifications
If you allow them, the app schedules local notifications — a bake finishing, grocery bags ready to open, a reminder when a streak is about to lapse. These are scheduled by the app on your device. There is no push server, and nothing about them reaches us. You can turn them off at any time in iOS Settings.
Live Activities
While a bake is running, the app can show a Live Activity on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island with the remaining time. This is rendered on your device from your own bake and is not transmitted.
Diagnostics
If you choose to share crash and usage diagnostics with developers in your iOS privacy settings, Apple may provide us with aggregated, non-identifying crash reports through App Store Connect. This is Apple's standard developer reporting and contains no personal data we can tie to you. You control it in iOS Settings under Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements.
Children
The app is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will change and the current version will always be the one posted at this URL.
